Who We Are

from Rev. George Lambrides

We are now in our thirteenth year as the Interfaith Round Table of Washtenaw County. For eleven years we have gathered religious leaders around the table from congregations in the local area, from Baptist to Buddhist, from Mormon to Muslim. The diversity has been exciting, people from a variety of religious traditions in conversation, discussing matters of importance, building bridges of both understanding and friendship. All this has helped to make our community one of respect and appreciation for people of all faith backgrounds. Currently there are thirty-five active congregations that participate in one way or another.

While there are symbols for almost every religion, the ones at the top of these web pages represent nine traditions. All do not participate in the RT, but the nine are intended to show our vision and hope as well our constituency. From left to right, these are symbols for: Unitarian Universalism, Taoism, other religions, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Baha'i.

If you are looking for a place to meet people with different faith perspectives, you are most welcome to join us. If you are interested in building bridges between religions without compromising the integrity and identy of those religions, come join the dialogue. If faith and spirituality are important to you and you want to learn from others traditions, the Round Table may be just the place for you.
